Trina Sambas Risk Manager

I started with Bali Construction fresh out of high school in January 1994 as the estimating secretary. I worked at Bali for five years and realized that if I wanted to further my career and achieve more professional success, I needed more education. I decided to leave Bali and go back to school, this was one of the hard decisions I had to make as I loved Bali and it had become a second home.

After 13 years away from Bali, Mike Brooks, Bali’s CEO, called me and asked if I would accept the position of Executive Assistant. In our call he spoke of many opportunities to grow within Bali. I accepted the role, which included a variety of duties and many hats. Later on, I moved up to Office Manager where I was involved in Human Resources, Safety, Risk Event Planning and became the go to person for everything!

My roles and duties narrowed as the years went by and strictly focused on Risk, Insurance Claims, Safety and of course the event planning (we throw the best Christmas Party!). Bali’s management was always supportive of my professional development and education and it was with their support that I went back to school for Risk Management. I completed this education and my OSHM (Occupation Safety and Health Management Certification). In my new role I get to pursue my passion of working with employees and helping them in any way I can to show them how much we at Bali appreciate and care for their wellbeing.

Bali is more than a work place, it is my home and has been since the first day I started back in 1994. The people here are family, especially Bali’s owners and management, who have helped me grow my career every step of the way. I would not be where I am without them, I love Bali, everyone here is family.
